The man who led police on a nine-day manhunt after breaking out of the Warren County Jail in July will spend the next 25 to 50 years behind bars.

The judge on Friday sentenced Michael Burham, 35, to spend 25 years and 2 months to 50 years and 4 months in prison on escape and kidnapping charges.

During sentencing, the judge said Burham was not remorseful and took into account a deadly weapon enhancement.

Burham also declared he was suicidal; he is expected to undergo therapy as a result.

We also learned Burham received multiple misconduct notices in prison for graffiti, throwing food and throwing feces at a guard.

It all started in May when Burham was named as the suspect in the murder of a Jamestown, New York, woman.

While on the run, he kidnapped a Warren County couple and made them drive him to South Carolina where he was captured initially.

Burham then used a rope fashioned out of prison bed sheets to break out of the Warren County Jail.

That manhunt ended when a Warren County couple's dog sniffed him out, and police made the arrest.

Burham still faces potential murder charges in western New York.
