Multiple patients were transferred to local hospitals after a fire broke at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie on Wednesday morning. 

12 patients from the facility were evacuated and transferred to AHN, and 12 others were taken to UPMC Hamot.

AHN St. Vincent said it immediately opened its incident command center to handle the patients the facility, which includes four on ventilators. 

All the patients are stable and expected to remain at AHN St. Vincent for as long as necessary. UPMC officials also said its hospital will provide continuing care to the patients as needed.
