The Meadville City Police Department received a call for an active shooter at the Meadville Medical Center Facility on Alden Street on Wednesday, January 24. 

Officers responded to the scene quickly, and determined there was no evidence of an active shooter or any kind of disturbance. 

Then, a second call came in stating there was an active shooter at the Medical Center on Terrace St. Once again, officers found no evidence of an active shooter or disturbance. 

Police are investigation the source of the calls, but preliminary details show that there was never an active threat to the facilities and the incident most likely stemmed from a miscommunication.
