Pennsylvania State Police arrested a man at a Summit Township motel for interfering with the custody of a child and furnishing alcohol to a minor.

It started when New York State Police (NYSP) contacted troopers around 4 a.m. Wednesday regarding a runaway 16-year-old girl from Schroon Lake, New York.

Investigators with NYSP said the juvenile was believed to be with Matthew Chantelois, 45, of Dearborn, Michigan, and they pinged his cell phone to a motel on Schultz Rd., troopers said.

State Police in Erie responded to the motel and found a vehicle matching the description from NYSP in the parking lot and located Chantelois and the juvenile in a room there, according to investigators.

Chantelois was arrested, arraigned and taken to the Erie County Prison with bond set at $100,000.
