While the snow from the latest batch of Erie's snowstorms may have melting, the City of Erie Street Department wanted to remind people of the importance of following the odd/even parking schedules during the winter months.

They say by making sure resident follow odd/even parking rules, it will allow them to plow streets faster.

"If you live in a section that doesn't have odd even parking, trying to park on one side of the street, [so] everyone's on the same side, it's the best thing to do," said Jeff Gibbens, Bureau Chief for the City of Erie Streets Department.

"That way we can at least get one side done and you can get your car to the other side because our plows will be coming down the other way...trying to do your due diligence with that or parking in your driveway, or a neighbors driveway [will help]."
