It is National School Counselor's week, and local schools in our area are recognizing their counselors.

This week is dedicated to highlighting all that counselors do in benefit for their students. Erie News Now visited McDowell High School to talk with counselor Megan Boesch about how important school counselors are to students' school-life balance.

"It's hard for them to learn, when they have other things, so I wanted to help them, kind of find solutions so they can, you know, be the best versions of themselves," said Boesch. "So that's why school counselors are so important. We work with our teachers, we work with parents, we work with administration to just make sure that we can give the students their best and show them that they have a wonderful support team here."
