Ahead of the big match up, many people may have been hitting the stores for some last minute food preps.

Football and snacks- a perfect pairing for game day.

Jannah Jablonowski, a Spokesperson for Giant Eagle said, "Whether its a game day spread or any kind of big gathering they may be hosting, the pretzel bites are always a crowd pleaser, they have a couple of dip options, so you can make it sweet or savory and they are in single bite serving and then the sandwich trays are always a crowd pleaser especially the slider style ."

Whether hosting or attending a big party, food and drinks can get costly, so there's a few things to be aware of when browsing the aisles. "Always look for our own brand, they are super high quality but also at a really competitive price point. But if you are really looking to maximize your budget, shopping the brand is a great way to do that especially with things like chips and salsas, humus's, all of those things that make for a really great game day spread", said Jablonowksi.

While many people prefer the savory options, others opt for the fruit and veggie trays for a healthier choice. Jared Lossie's team didn't make it all the way, he still plans on watching with snacks by his side.  "When we are watching football, we like the boneless wings and the snacks you can eat with your fingers. Maybe some pizza, maybe some snacks and crackers you can buy for the little ones too, in addition some fruits and veggies, we like to keep it fresh too", said Lossie.

When he's enjoying the food and football, he said  spending time with family and friends is a win for him. "Especially getting everyone amped up with a big play, they are cheering when you shot touchdown. We are a Steelers household, so it's nice to get everyone together to root on the teams, they didn't make it this year but we are still rooting for a team when we can", said Lossie.
