Valentine's Day busy-ness goes farther than just one day. One restaurant, Syd's Place, says they're expecting to be busy for the whole week.

"Valentines Day was really good for us. We ran our specials. We started them last Friday, and are running them all the way through this coming Saturday. So, it's like Valentine's week for us,” General Manager of Syd’s Place and Avanti’s restaurants, John Giglotti said.

Along with Valentine's Day, Syd's anticipates a steady customer base with the start of Lent.

“Ash Wednesday —  that also gives us an influx because we're very geared towards seafood. It's American cuisine, but it's a high emphasis of seafood, and so this is one of our shining times of this season,” Giglotti said.

Another restaurant serving up some seafood is Chico's in Fairview. One regular, Leo Lipinski, wishes their fish fry went on all year round..

“Chico's has one of the best fish fry's in probably Erie County. Stevie hand breads them in the morning and then, they serve it till they're done. It’s only during lent. It's all you can eat, but I can never eat more than the three they give me in the beginning,” Lipinski said.

Server Hannah Kelly says not only do familiar faces pop-in but new people stop by too.

“People really look forward to this, and it's nice seeing everybody come in here for something they can look forward to. . . This is kind of a fun way for new people to come in and try out stuff during the lent season," Kelly said.
