Special Olympics Pennsylvania will be hosting the Northwest Happy Hour Polar Plunge for the first time on Friday, April 5. 

The plunge will take place from 4-7 p.m. on Friday. The event will take place at the Courtyard Marriott at Bayfront Landing. 

Special Olympics Northwest Region said its "Freezin' for a Reason" as it celebrates more than 50 years of inclusion. 

The inaugural event will raise money for year-round sports, health and leadership programming for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our community. 

After the plunge, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments at the Marriott. 

Additionally, the top fundraising team will earn bragging rights, along with the Inaugural Happy Hour Polar Plunge Trophy. The top earners will get to hold and display the trophy for a year.
