The Erie Junior Philharmonic will be presenting a mid-season concert this Sunday, March 17 at Strong Vincent Middle School.

The concert, featuring Concerto Competition winner Henry Moffatt, will also feature the small ensembles of the Erie Junior Philharmonic top orchestras, the Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra.

Moffatt is a sophomore at Collegiate Academy. He will be stepping in front of the orchestra as the 2023-24 Concerto Competition winner. The competition consists of a blind-audition against seven other students in the Junior Philharmonic.

Moffatt will perform the second movement of Brush's Violin Concerto in g minor.

Moffatt has been playing the violin for four years and in his third year in the Erie Junior Philharmonic.

Additionally, the concert will feature small group ensembles from the Chamber and Symphony Orchestras.

Event organizers said program highlights include Mozart's Serenade Eine kleine Nacktmusik, an arrangement of Stravinsky Berceuse and Finale from “The Firebird Suite,” and a percussion ensemble performance.

The concert will be held at Strong Vincent Middle School beginning at 3 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
