Former President Trump has said that if he were reelected, he vows to replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, which serves over 21.3 million Americans.

Today, local Democrats urged the 1.6 million Pennsylvanians who use the Affordable Care Act to take this as a warning, encouraging them to vote for Biden in November.

"The Affordable Care Act expanded healthcare to millions of people in the United States and a couple million here in Pennsylvania," said City Councilman Chuck Nelson (D). "So it's really significant that as that blue wave brought that legislation in 14 years ago, that we don't see a red wave knock it out and take all those people's health care away."

"People who have children on their healthcare till age 26, that would be repealed also, and those people would have to go into the private market and actually pay full price for healthcare," said Sam Talarico, Chairman of the Erie County Democratic Party Committee.

However, County Republican chair Tom Eddy says Trump made efforts to decrease healthcare costs; and while the former President does plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act, he claims he will replace it with his own plan, although he hasn't released any details.

"big thing he did was a thing called the health reimbursement arrangement rule," said Eddy. "And what this did was allowed employers to give their employees tax free payments, which allowed them to go out into the independent or private health care area and buy coverage that best fit them."

"I've never heard Donald Trump say exactly what he'd want to replace [the A.C.A.] with. I think he's a smart enough businessman to say let's get the experts in here, let them sit and look at this, and how can we improve it?"
