Ron Seggi plans to make a return to Erie to help raise funds for a local scholarship.

The Paul Yochulan Memorial Scholarship Fund is a forever scholarship which helps students attend Mercyhurst Prep.

More than 65 percent of current students attend with the help of financial scholarships.

Seggi will perform a salute to the music of Dick Clark's American Bandstand, and it will include a 16-piece orchestra from Florida alongside local musicians. The music will include hits from Frankie Valli and Elvis Presley.

Paul Yochulan Jr. said the performance on May 4 falls on his father's birthday.

"It's very important that we keep his name alive," said Yochulan. "The scholarship at Mercyhurst Prep is a forever scholarship. That'll go on forever. The money that we add to the scholarship fund, we will continue to help a deserving student forever. If anybody knew my father, which thousands and thousands of people knew my father, would know, that's what he would want to have done for his legacy."

"Sometimes the scholarship can make a difference between whether a student can attend the school or not," said Lisa Nietupski, advancement director for Mercyhurst Prep. "It really has a powerful impact on families and that wonderful man's name."

Before the performance at 7 p.m., there will be a meet-and-greet with Seggi at 4 p.m. for a small fee as well.
