With the total solar eclipse just days away, businesses throughout the region are gearing up for the rare celestial event.

Preparations are in full swing in Chautauqua County, as they will be experiencing 4 minutes totality.

The county government and local businesses are collaborating closely to ensure that visitors and residents alike have an unforgettable experience.

Solar eclipse glasses have been made readily available to everyone in the county, free of charge.
Justin Gould, Chautauqua County Media Information Officer, shed light on this initiative:

"Working with the Chautauqua County Health Department and Offices of Emergency Services and several of our partners like the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and others, we are going to be giving out eclipse glasses free of charge for anyone in Chautauqua County any visitor of Chautauqua County," Gould said. "All you have to do is head online to chqgov.com/eclipse and we have a full list of distribution locations.”

The collaboration doesn't stop there. Dan Heitzenrater, the President and CEO of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the plethora of events planned for the occasion.

“There are upwards of 40 events that are cataloged with our friends at the Visitors Bureau, who we at the Chamber have worked very closely with alongside the County Government and others, to spread the word," stated Heitzenrater. "There’s going to be plenty of opportunities to have fun.”

This collaborative effort aims to ensure that everyone visiting Chautauqua County will be able and ready to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
