Pennsylvania State Police See Increase in DUI Crashes, Arrests Over Easter Holiday Weekend

Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) saw an increase in DUI crashes and arrests over this year's Easter holiday enforcement.
From Friday, March 29 to Sunday, March 31, PSP investigated 407 crashes resulting in six fatalities and 90 injuries.
Additionally, according to PSP intoxicated driving was a factor in 46 of those crashes, two of which were fatal. PSP saw 31 DUI related crashes in 2023.
Troopers arrested 358 motorists for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and issued 17,168 traffic citations, including:
- 5,285 for speeding
- 557 for failing to wear a seatbelt
- 90 for not securing children in safety seats
