Lodging Tips Ahead of the Eclipse

With the total solar eclipse just days away, visitors to the region have been snapping up accommodations at hotels, bed and breakfasts, and camping sites at a rapid pace.
Many hotels throughout the region are already fully booked, along with bed and breakfast locations, Air B&Bs, and even local campsites.
Erie News Now stopped by the Warren County Visitors’ Bureau to gather more information about possible lodging options for travelers in need.
“If you are looking for a space, I am told that the Candlelight Inn in Tidioute has a couple of rooms left for April 7th," stated Casey Ferry, Warren County Visitors Bureau Executive Director. "We were also informed that the Allegheny National Forest has some camping spots available, so if that is your thing, some of their spots are in the path of totality. That would be an awesome experience.”
While availability is extremely limited, numerous hotels in the area are allowing cancellations 48 hours in advance and will be updating their availability as soon as rooms become vacant.
Additionally, there are still spots open at several local campgrounds and according to representatives with the Allegheny National Forest, there are several spaces still available in the line of totality at Willow Bay.
Excitement is in the air as locals and visitors alike get ready to experience this once-in-a-lifetime event.
“We have a lot of creative business owners around here so if you go around downtown Warren, and across the county, there are other places too that have unique items and will be a lot of fun for the eclipse,” added Ferry.
As we approach the eclipse, experts are advising everyone to plan accordingly to ensure a safe and memorable viewing experience.
