The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) resumed work on a project to improve the intersection of Route 6N and Route 99 in Edinboro Borough, Erie County on Monday, April 1.

According to PennDOT, the majority of work to improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow at the intersection took place last year. New concrete crosswalks will be placed this construction season.

PennDOT said work is expected to be complete by May 2024.

Due to the Total Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, no work will take place that day.

Motorists may encounter both short-term and long-term lane closures controlled by flaggers. Drivers should be alert for traffic pattern shifts and lane restrictions. Drivers should also expect travel delays during active work hours.

More information on the project can be found on PennDOT's website
