Knockout Homelessness: Round 15 included three fights full of action in front of packed Bayfront Convention Center audience.

After the fights ended, the fighters actually praised their own opponents.

"That was exciting, I would not want to do it everyday but it sure was a fun little mid life crisis," Erie City Councilman Chuck Nelson said.

"He came out and set the pace a little bit faster than what I thought it was going but it was a good match and he is pretty strong," Johnny Bizzarro said.

"He is a tough competitor, learned fast, very athletic and a great guy, he comes out and gives a lot to the community and he gave a lot in the ring tonight," Lou Bizzarro Jr. said of Lt. Tom Lenox.

Referee and CEO of the Erie Downtown Development Corporation Drew Whiting said being a referee is, "a lot less nerve-racking than being a fighter, my job is to make sure they both leave hurt but not injured."

Regardless of who the crowd was cheering on, everyone's main goal was to make sure as much money as possible was raised for the Erie City Mission.

"We served 138,000 meals last year, 17,000 nights of shelter, there are people in our area that are struggling and so the Erie City Mission exists to help them," president and CEO of the Erie City Mission Brian Johansson said.

"The Erie City Mission is the best of the causes and I was really happy to lay it down like that," Nelson said.

"A very good cause and we raised $750,000 already so maybe $800,000," Johnny Bizzarro said.

"It is amazing, I look forward to it every year and it gets me back into a little bit of shape," Lou Bizzarro Jr. said.

"We have a lot of people in the area that need help and the Erie City Mission responds to them, they work hard, go through a lot and we are very lucky to have them in Erie," Erie Mayor Joe Schember said.

"A lot of good things happen under those lights and one of them is to get rid of these problems that we have in our community and we need to stay with it," co-chairman of Knockout Homelessness Ron DiNicola said.
