Local fire departments are coming together to remember and honor the life of Fuller Hose Company Firefighter Shawn Giles.

Giles was hit by a car and killed while directing traffic around another accident on August 20, 2023. Giles was a 13-year-veteran who worked and volunteered at the Fuller Hose Company.

Shawn's family and friends are asking the community to help remember and honor him during May 1-5 by lighting area porches or windows in red.

Lighting up homes, windows and porches in red honors any fallen firefighter who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Red bulbs can be purchased for $2 at the Flower Cart, Main Studio, C & C Printing and the Community Nursing Services of North East.

According to a Facebook post from the Brookside Fire Company, proceeds will benefit the Shawn Giles Memorial Fund.
