Chase Rogan has worked in the golf business for 12 years. As a Saegertown native who now lives in Erie, his business vision is coming to life, right on 10th and State Streets.

"Right now is, in theory, a pretty good time to get into the golf business," Rogan said.

The franchise Five Iron Golf, a brand-new indoor golf and entertainment facility, is coming to downtown Erie and will open in mid-May.

"Leagues, events, memberships and lessons," Rogan said. "This is a place to get your swings in not only in the winter but year round."

A bar, TV's and plenty of seating will occupy the main floor. As visitors head upstairs, they will have plenty of things to do as well.

"We will have six golf simulators, one multi-sport simulator and a full bar and kitchen," Rogan said. "So we're as much an entertainment venue as we are a golf venue."

He also says his intention of the business is to invite any golfer inside to have fun, no matter the skill level.

"Whether you want to improve your game and lower your handicap, we want you in here," Rogan said. "If you're just looking for a fun Friday night out, we also want you in here."

With major golf tournaments rolling around, kicking off with The Masters this weekend, Rogan also has a plan for those who love to watch the sport.

"Upstairs we're going to have a big video wall with four 65-inch screens posted stamped together," Rogan said. "For every major golf tournament, we'll be hosting a watch party on that television."
