Erie native Don Holl is a 1988 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy.

After being commissioned in 1988, Holl served aboard the USS Harry E. Yarnell.

He served on the Yarnell for 3 years, including 25 months at sea.

He made deployments to the Mediterranean Sea and the Baltic Sea.

Onboard the Yarnell, he visited 20 Countries while serving as 1st Lieutenant and Auxiliaries Officer.

In 1986 as a member of the Naval Academy football team, Holl was named the CBS Player of the Game during the annual Army-Navy Classic.

He's currently in his 9th season as the Head Football Coach at Gateway High School.

Holl also serves as Gateway's Athletic Director.
