Celebrating National Telecommunicators Week in Warren County
In honor of National Telecommunicators Week, Erie News Now teamed up with 92 Gold FM and Warren ShurFine to provide coffee and donuts to the local 9-1-1 Call Center.
“For National Telecommunicators Week we have had folks from some of our response agencies, some of our vendors, and Erie News Now and 92 Gold, coming into the center and bringing food, cookies, and coffee for our employees, just to thank them for the job that they do,” stated Ken McCorrison, Warren County Department of Public Safety Director.
With the ongoing EMS crisis gripping the nation, the roles of telecommunicators have become even more critical. Fortunately, positive changes are happening in Warren County. The Dispatch Center has recently welcomed three new hires.
"We are staffing up," McCorrison said. "We have three trainees currently in our academy, and we hope to have them on the floor and on their own in about six months.”
Mr. McCorrison also took a moment to express his gratitude for the community's generosity towards call center employees during this celebratory week.
“Just to take the time to recognize our staff, that is seldom seen from the community, it means a lot,” stated McCorrison.
