Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) resumed paving work this week on Route 20 in Girard Borough and Township, according to an announcement Tuesday.

The project includes paving of 2.4 miles of roadway on and Route 20 (Ridge Road/Main St.) from Chestnut St. to Imperial Parkway.

Work also includes minor drainage upgrades, traffic signals, signage replacement, pavement markings, and ADA concrete sidewalks.

Construction restarted Monday and is expected to be completed in fall 2024. Work first started in 2023.

Drivers in the area will see lane restrictions and flaggers and may experience delays.

M & B Services, of Clarion, was issued the contract for the $3.7 million project, which will be paid using federal funds.
