April is recognized as National Donate Life Month and it was a mad dash to the finish line on Sunday morning at Presque Isle State Park for the annual Dash to Donate.

Racers laced up their sneaker at the Erie Runner's Club Pavillion near Beach One to participate.

The 5k Run and Walk was organized by the Hamot Health Foundation, the Center for Organ Recovery and Education (C.O.R.E.) and the UPMC Hamot Kidney Transplant Services.

The goal of the event was to raise money and awareness for organ donation.

The money raised will be used to help pay for expenses of patient's and their families during the transplant process through the Ryan's Choice Fund.

Erie News Now had a team participate.

Congrats to all who participated.
