Giant Eagle is partnering with Flashfood, an app-based marketplace that connects shoppers with great discounts on groceries. 

Giant Eagle customers who shop through the Flashfood app are now able to utilize Electron Benefits Transfer (EBT) as a method of payment. 

EBT is an electronic system that allows customers who participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to pay for food using SNAP benefits. 

According to Giant Eagle, the addition of EBT as a payment option increases the accessibility to the Flashfood program and helps stretch valuable SNAP benefits further. 

The Flashfood app enables customers to browse grocery deals from their phone on high-quality, fresh items like meat, produce, dairy and bakery items, as well as center-store foods and snacks. 

Purchases are made directly through the app and customers then pick up their order from the Flashfood Zone located inside their participating Giant Eagle location. 

“Our continued partnership with Flashfood is helping us to better serve our guests by offering significant savings on important grocery options,” said Jannah Jablonowski, Giant Eagle spokesperson. “We are thrilled that Flashfood is now able to accept EBT payment through their app, giving our guests more flexibility to manage their grocery budgets.”
