The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is preparing to resume work to improve more than 10 miles of roadway in Rockland and Cranberry Townships in Venango County.

The project will include the following roadways:

  • East State Road (Route 2006) – from Route 257 to Hill City Road (Route 2015) in Cranberry Township; 3.6 miles
  • Rockland Cranberry Road (Route 2013) – from the East Sandy Creek Bridge to Route 322 in Rockland and Cranberry townships; 2.6 miles
  • Deep Hollow Road (Route 2035) – from Route 322 to Bredinsburg Road (Route 2006) in Cranberry Township; 4.2 miles.

According to PennDOT, the project began in fall 2023. Work that year included paving, and updates to guiderail and drainage.

PennDOT said work in 2024 will include sealing of bridge joints, line painting, seal coating and rumble strips.

Work is expected to resume on May 1, 2024, weather permitting. Work is expected to be completed by June 2024.

Additionally, motorists may encounter lane restrictions with traffic controlled by flaggers.
