The Erie Composite Squadron 502 was selected as Squadron of the Year at the Pennsylvania Wing conference in Harrisburg. 

The group competed against 40 other squadrons across the state. 

A representative for the squadron said the cadets represent some of the best of the young generation. 

The Civil Air Patrol is an axillary of the U.S. Air Force that is open to cadets aged 12-18.
