A golf league and a brotherhood -- 25 years ago Brothers Linked Together was formed. One of the founders, Pastor Tyrone Clark shared how it all began.

"It came about because in my mind, I thought I could be a real good golf player. That wasn't the case, but I did find that I really enjoyed the game. So, I found myself coming out here on Saturday afternoons and one of the things I noticed was there was not a lot of people who looked like me playing golf," Clark said.

The golf league has grown in numbers. Co-founder Edward Dawson said that he didn't expect it to get where it is today.

"Did I anticipate what this would look like if I got more people that looked like me out here? Well, that's exactly what happened. I didn't know it would go this long or get this big," Dawson said.

The league connects people, building relationships, and a community all through the love of golf.

"By in large, everyone agrees, with that. They come together for the fellowship, for the camaraderie, the being together. They come for the fun, of course. I think the game is fun, even though I don't play that well. Some of these people have been friends for life," Clark said.

The league hopes to set up the next generation for an interest and love of the sport, and encourage them to believe in themselves.

"I think what we just try to do is make sure there's a future for kids who don't believe that they could do this, and they really can. Just give them an opportunity, and I hope that's what Brothers Linked Together continues to do. If children need golf clubs, lessons and so forth, we're here," Dawson said.
