Summer is almost here, and that means kids will be out of school, and parents will be looking to get their kids out of the house.

Erie Mayor Joe Schember recognized several organizations that provide low-cost, and even free, activities for youth to participate in all summer long.

From theatre productions, to basketball camps, and even swimming lessons, there's options for families.

"It's great to give something back to kids that is very productive. Students that are active in theater, you know they have public speaking skills that they'll continue to use for the left of their lives, lifelong friendships," said Sara Little, Footlights Theatre.
