UK based drug-maker, AstraZeneca, is pulling its covid-19 vaccine from global markets due to low demand.

They have been one of the main covid-19 vaccines worldwide, producing more than three billion doses of the vaccine.

"It's not surprising that vaccines that are not dominating the market are being pulled because it's really expensive to produce and distribute a vaccine," said Erie News Now Medical Contributor Epidemiologist Dr. Becky Dawson.

Dr. Dawson tells us that this vaccine being pulled is not a signal that covid has gone away. She says that although we are no longer masking or social distancing, there is still a need for vaccinations.

"We should be thinking about the things we need to do on a daily basis to keep our family healthy."

Dr. Dawson recommends talking to your primary care doctor if you are looking to get a covid booster.
