A man wanted for attempted homicide in Venango County has been arrested in Virginia, according to Pennsylvania State Police on Monday.

Anthony Young, 31, of Pleasantville, was taken into custody Monday around 1 p.m. in Vinton, Va., after U.S. Marshals Service and Virginia State Police received information he was in the area.

Young is now awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania in a Roanoke, Va., jail.

Troopers were called around 6:41 p.m. May 1 to Shamburg Rd. in Oil Creek Township for a report of shots fired.

A witness told investigators they saw a gold, four-door car driving up the road and heard one of the neighbors verbally engage the driver. The witness said the vehicle stopped, a man later identified as Young got out, walked up to the 30-year-old male victim, aimed a gun and fired three shots.

He faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, firearms not to be carried without a license, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief.
