Over 300 students from across Warren County had the opportunity to enjoy a hands-on learning experience at the Warren County Fairgrounds
for the Higher-Ed’s annual WoodMobile Event.

“We have multiple organizations that came together today to provide the kids with little snippets and experiences," stated Angela Bigelow, Assistant Director for Warren-Forest Higher Education.  "Students were able to learn about a range of career opportunities. Presenters put together a fun and engaging day that is hands on and the kids are just having a great time.”

This is the 20th year that the Warren-Forest Higher Education Council has hosted the WoodMobile for local students.

It was a day of learning about forestry and industrial resources for students, while also having fun.

Representatives were on hand from the U.S. Forest Service, Drake Oil Museum, Penn's Woods, and the PA Game Commission.

“We’re teaching kids about animals and their habitats," stated Eric McBride, PA Game Commission Land Manager. "Specifically, we have been teaching kids about native animals in Pennsylvania. We have found that a lot of times, children are familiar with exotic species; leopards and tigers, but they don’t know about the species that might be in their own backyards.”

Event organizers and participants stated that this year’s WoodMobile event was a success, and they cannot wait until next year.
