When it's nice out, sixth grader Mia Moore is out shooting hoops. Moore is also a huge Caitlin Clark fan. Moore said Clark has an impact on how she practices.

“When I practice, I think about her shot and I try to follow off of that,” Moore said.

Moore has seen Clark play in person twice, and plans to see her play on the Indiana Fever team this summer.

“So, I just go off of her and she’s just amazing and I love what she’s been doing with women's sports and taking them farther,” Moore said.

Clark has impacted players on the Erie Irish girls basketball travel team. Tenth grader Nicole Spano said seeing Clark play encourages her to work harder.

Her passion for the game influences me to be how I want to be, and how to be that player in college. It makes me want to work harder every day just to watch her. .. just be the best just for little kids and show them, and inspire them to love them game how she does and how I do,” Spano said.

Clark's success also inspires skills like leadership and perseverance.

“It definitely shows me how to be a leader cause you can definitely see her lead her teammates on the court and everything. It shows just to keep going, and keep playing no matter what’s going on in the game. . . [It] shows all the hard work you can put in, and anything you can do can really turn out and make you become so successful, so well known and you can encourage others to do the same,” Jessica Beberidge, a 10th grade basketball player on Erie Irish, said.
