The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's (PFBC) second Fish for Free Day will be held on Thursday, July 4.
According to the PFBC, many families and friends will be gathered to celebrate the holiday and may be spending time outdoors.
Fish for Free Days allow anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish on Pennsylvania Waterways on the designated days with no fishing license required. Trout/Salmon and Lake Erie permits are also not required.
The first Fish for Free Day was held on Sunday, May 26, 2024.
Additionally, the PFBC reminds anglers who will be fishing from boats to follow a basic safety checklist before and during each boating adventure.
