Erie Philharmonic's Free Summer Concert Series Kick Off at Gibson Park Relocates to Mellon Veterans Outreach Campus

The Erie Philharmonic's free summer music series, In Your Hometown, will be returning Wednesday, July 10. The concert was originally scheduled to take place in Gibson Park. However, due to weather the concert is being moved indoors.
The first show of the free summer music series will be held at the Mellon Veterans Outreach Campus at 16 West Division Street.
The free concert series will take place in parks across the region as the tour makes stops throughout northwestern Pennsylvania in July and August.
Concert goers are asked to bring chairs and no alcoholic beverages are permitted.
“I really love the atmosphere and the camaraderie we feel when we play our regional summer concerts,” remarks Music Director Daniel Meyer. “The performances are such a fun and casual way to connect with our fans and look forward to the coming season. This July, I am particularly looking forward to featuring one of our superb cellists, Will Teegarden, as he makes his solo debut with music of Saint-Saëns.”
The tour will begin at Gibson Park in North East, Pa. The concert will feature one of three different ensembles, including the orchestra, a chamber ensemble, and a brass ensemble.
All nine concerts are scheduled to take place at outdoor parks and venues, with backup indoor rain locations available as needed.
Concerts are free and open to the public.
