The driver of a car was killed in a crash near the Bayfront Connector in the City of Erie on Thursday.

It happened just north of the intersection with E. 6th St. around 2:20 p.m.

A white vehicle was going eastbound on E. 5th St. when it hit a barrier, overturned and trapped the driver, according to police.

Emergency crews found the driver dead.

No other details were immediately available.
