The Northwest Pennsylvania Medical Reserve Corps is hosting free one-day Basic Life Support and CPR Certification Renewal Training sessions in honor of CPR and AED Awareness Month.

The training sessions are for anyone interested in learning how to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. Attendees must be 18 years of age or older.

The course will teach individuals how to help someone (adults, children and infants) whose heart has stopped beating using CPR or an AED (automated external defibrillator).

Participants will receive a completion card valid for two years.

"The Northwest Pennsylvania Medical Reserve Corp is part of a national network of volunteers that helps communities respond to natural disasters like blizzards and public health emergencies such as disease outbreaks," said Joy Henry, program coordinator.

The sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • June 22 Saturday 9 am to 12 pm
    • Frontline Medical Training Services - 898 Park Ave., Suite 12, Meadville, PA
  • June 25 Tuesday 5 to 8 pm
    • Admiral Room, Blasco Memorial Library - 160 E Front St., Erie, PA

Registration is required to attend either session. Those interested in attending should contact [email protected] by June 20.
