More than 75,000 gently used books and other items will be up for grabs at the Great American Book Sale this month.

It runs from Sunday, June 16, through Friday, June 21, at Flo Fabrizio Ice Arena at W. 38th and Cherry St.

In addition to books, there will be audiobooks on CD, music CDs, DVDs and puzzles.

Books available include recent fiction, mystery, history, science fiction and a greatly expanded children’s book section. Sports, travel, religion, home and crafts and self-help books will be for sale, too.

Prices are $2 for hardcover books and large sized paperbacks and $1 for regular paperbacks for the first few days of the sale. Children’s books go for $1 for hardcover and $.50 for paperbacks.

There will also be a selection of specially priced high-quality collectible books including very attractive coffee table books, Erie history titles and nearly new gardening and cookbooks.

The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and Friday (bag day) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The public is encouraged to show up early for the best selection and come back during the week to discover even more hidden treasures.

Parking is free. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Erie County Public Library.
