Three young men died from a car crash Saturday night in Athens Township in Crawford county. Around 8 p.m. a Scion driven by 21-year-old Ronald Parisi of Chicora ran off Centerville Road and crashed into a tree.

All three had already died when emergency response arrived. Two were in the front seat, and one ejected from the rear. State police reports all three were not wearing seat belts. The scene was tough -- even for seasoned rescuers.

"When we got there it was a pretty somber scene. The car was pretty well mangled,”

By Sunday afternoon, people had put flowers on the tree for Parisi, his cousin 17-year-old Levi Deal, and their friend 19-year-old Joshua Boetnner from Butler.

Sources at the scene including Centerville Fire chief Tim Huddleson say the car was traveling at a high speed when it hit the tree. He said it was a long night, one that the crew got through as a unit.

“We rallied together really well as a unit. I think about five people got to go up to the scene. We made everybody else stay back because we didn't want them to see. It was pretty terrible," Huddleson said.

At Christ Family Church in Chicora Sunday night, family and friends gathered to remember the three and grieve together.
