A stone house along West 6th Street in Erie is the inspiration behind the name Stonehouse Electric and Maintenance.

Owner Justin Corritore once owned that stone house on 6th, one of many places he's owned, rented, or fixed up and sold.

You see, the father of five says he left a corporate job to be his own boss and have a more flexible schedule for family.

He started sister company Stonehouse Management, overseeing rental properties solely in the City of Erie.

"The need came about when we started having regular clients, commercial clients, residential clients ask us for home repairs, commercial building repairs," said Justin.

That's why the Electric and Maintenance company formed, to help residential, commercial, and industrial clients across Erie County.

"We can service appliances. We get a lot of HVAC. ACs are down, furnaces are down," said Justin. "Commercial clients, it's usually refrigeration units, lighting issues. They have something behind a bar that's not working, dishwashers, we fix those."

Generally, he says, anything inside a building, including painting. The need for general maintenance is boosting the 14-member staff.

A staff that includes Justin's father, Charlie.

"I am so thankful for the opportunity he gave me," said Charlie. "I keep telling him he gave me a second act in life."

The longtime bookkeeper has put his skills to use at now, his son's business.

"I couldn't be more proud of him. He built it from the ground up," said Charlie.
