A worker suffered an injury in a construction accident on Erie's bayfront Tuesday.
It was reported at the Bayfront Parkway and Holland St. around 4:38 p.m.
The victim suffered serious injuries in an incident with an excavator, which reportedly fell into a hole, according to reports from the scene.
He was taken to nearby UPMC Hamot for treatment.
Crews had been working to remove the excavator.
Workers surrounded the area in caution tape -- blocking the site off. This construction site is a project of Brayman Construction and Trumbull joint venture.
Here is a statement from Jason Booher, who is the project director for Brayman and Trumbull Joint venture:
"An employee working for Wilson contracting, which is a subcontractor to the Brayman Trumbull joint venture was involved in an incident today. It's under investigation. The employee was taken to a hospital. At this point we don't have any further information to share."
No other information was immediately available.
