Erie County, Redevelopment Authority to Develop Business Park in McKean Township
Erie County and the Erie County Redevelopment Authority are working together to develop of a business park in McKean Township, representatives from both parties announced Wednesday.
The business park, located at the former Green Shingle truck stop at Interstate 90 and Sterrettania Rd., will be designed to meet the needs of manufacturing and logistics businesses.
The site consists of 160 acres, and Erie County used $3.2 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding to acquire the site.
Both the Competitive Realities Report from 2019 and Governor Shapiro’s Economic Strategy determined there is a need for more ready-to-build sites, particularly large-scale sites for business attraction and expansion projects, according to county officials.
Erie County said it needs pad-ready sites for new and expanding businesses to boost its economic development, and a business park has not been developed in the county for more than 25 years.
