City of Meadville Fire Chief Retires After Two Decades of Service
The final call was made for the Chief of the City of Meadville's Fire Department.
Patrick Wiley has been an EMT and volunteering with the City of Meadville's Fire Department since he was 15. His whole life he knew he wanted to be a firefighter, and although Wiley loved his job, he retires now knowing he left the department in good hands, with the team being one call away.
"Honestly the department is in a good place a good platform for whoever would take over for me. and my kids are growing and I wanted to spend more time with them," said Wiley.
"Countless lives hundreds if not thousands he directly or indirectly impacted something that will never be matched," said Chief Kardosh. "Nobody can fill pats shoes but the path he has changed with the director we can follow now and keep moving in a positive direction."
Wiley says it was the perfect time to retire and spend time with his family.
