At Shades Beach Park, the fourth annual Summer Jam Charity Event had live music, but the focus was on raising money for the Erie Cancer Wellness Center

"So the Erie Cancer Wellness Center provides non-medical support to those living with cancer and the people that care for them," Executive Director Heather McLaughlin said. "Through free of charge programs to support emotional, physical and mental healing."

Natalie Massing, the organizer of the Summer Jam Event was able to get raffle baskets to be auctioned off.

"We have over 70 raffle baskets that we are raffling off today," McLaughlin said. "All the proceeds benefit our center."

It was a 79 degree afternoon, and everyone was just thankful for the amazing weather.

"We are so blessed in so many ways," McLaughlin said. "My friend Steve is looking down on us, making sure we are having a great day."

Over at the 814 Concert Series kickoff the Ruby Port Band performed from Bayview Park.

"We hope that you join us for the next 5 weeks ahead of time," Katie Shafer of UPMC Health said. "We want to say thank you to the west bay front, the city, thank you so much for all you do to support great community events that we are all fortunate to attend. So get out move your body, enjoy the playground, and have a great time tonight."
