Two people in Erie County are out money after reportedly falling victim to scams, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

A 57-year-old Summit Township woman told troopers on June 12 she was scammed out of $250.

State police said scammers have been misrepresenting themselves as law enforcement to get money from victims. Troopers are reminding people that law enforcement will never ask for money, and phone calls doing such are scams.

A 69-year-old Harbocreek Township woman lost $3,000 in a scam reported June 21, according to state police.

The victim told troopers the scammers represented themselves as Microsoft employees and asked for payments via gift cards over the phone.
