Erie Zoo to Close Early for Felines & Wines Fundraiser

The Erie Zoo's Big Cat Conservation fundraiser, Felines & Wines, makes its return on Friday, August 9.
This year's event seems to have a not so subtle Taylor Swift theme. Swift is known for being a cat lover.
The Erie Zoo is inviting guests to spend a gorgeous evening tasting drinks from local wineries, distilleries, and meaderies. The zoo is hoping guests will stay, stay, stay, for live music, food trucks, and shopping with local vendors.
The zoo's carousel will also be open during the event.
Felines & Wines is exclusively for community members 21 and older. Tickets are $45 for Zoo members, $50 for non members, and $25 for designated drivers.
The Erie Zoo will be closing at 3 p.m. on Friday to prepare for the fundraiser.
Attendees can taste wine from the following businesses:
- Altered State Distillery
- Arundel Cellars & Brewing Co
- Driftwood Wine Cellars
- Ironstone Meadery
- Jade Winery
- KingView Mead, Wine, & Cider
- Luminary Distillery
- Mazza Wines
Additionally, on Friday, July 5, the zoo unveiled this year's official Felines & Wines T-shirt. The shirts mirror Swift's popular Eras Tour shirts. However, instead of featuring different Taylor Swift eras, the shirt features different felines from the Erie Zoo.
