E. 10th St. in the City of Erie has reopened after fire crews shut it down to battle a fire in an abandoned house, which had smoke pouring from the roof.

The first calls came in just after 1 p.m. for a structure fire at 514 E. 10th St.

When crews arrived, they saw signs posted to keep out, so they tackled the fire from the exterior for their safety.

No one was living in the house or in the building when it went up in flames.

Fire crews believe the fire started in the back of the house, and they had it put out after an hour.

The fire inspector was on the scene to investigate what happened, but no cause has been determined yet.
