This is the last week on the job for Our West Bayfront Executive Director Anna Frantz.

Starting Monday July 15 she will take on a new leadership post at the Erie Western Pennsylvania Port Authority.

Frantz has been at the helm of Our West Bayfront since it was incorporated in 2017.

During that time, with the support of many community partners, particularly Gannon University, she's led the neighborhood revitalization organization in attracting $5-million in investment across the west Erie neighborhood.

It's funding that improved Bayview Park and historic Pontiac field, with matching support from the city of Erie, targeted blight and make the neighborhood safer by adding street lighting, and security cameras.

Frantz said the success is about more than physical improvements though.  She said OWB built a sense of community and connections through gatherings, events and by taking input from neighbors.  She also credits developing a strong plan for the revitalization effort.

Although leaving wasn't an easy decision, Frantz said she looks forward to working on planning that will move the Erie Western Pennsylvania Port Authority, where she will be Deputy Executive Director.  Julie Slomski who had that post has been promoted to Executive Director
