The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is alerting drivers to a changing traffic pattern for eastbound traffic on the Bayfront Parkway in the City of Erie. The shift will begin on Tuesday, July 30.

Barriers will be placed between the two directions of traffic from State Street and Holland Street and from Holland Street to Ore Dock Road. The eastbound traffic will be shifted toward the center of the roadway.

PennDOT says the lane shift is needed to complete drainage work as part of the Bayfront Parkway Central Corridor Improvement Project.

The lane shift is expected to remain in place for several months.

Additionally, a traffic shift remains in place near the intersection of Bayfront Parkway and Sassafras St. Extension.

More information about the project can be found on PennDOT's website.
