The coroner has released the name of the man killed in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 90 in McKean Township, Erie County, on Friday.

James Erickson, 55, of Stockton, N.Y., was pronounced dead at the scene. He died from multiple blunt force trauma, and his death was ruled accidental.

Erickson was heading eastbound on a motorcycle when he crossed the median, laid his bike down in the westbound lanes and was hit by a vehicle, according to the coroner.

The crash closed the westbound lanes of the interstate between the Sterrettania Rd. and Route 98 exits for several hours.
