Draft Plans for 'Project NePTWNE' to be Revealed Wednesday
Gannon University will reveal its draft plans for a Great Lakes research center in the Blasco Library Wednesday.
It is part of Gannon’s Project NePTWNE - an initiative to research the Great Lakes.
The facility will be in about 3 thousand square feet of space on the first floor of the Blasco Library.
It will have an exhibit space that will be open to the public, Dr. Sarah Ewing, Gannon's provost and vice president of student affairs.
There will be two meetings on Wednesday for people to see the initial plans.
They will be able to provide feedback so Gannon can incorporate it into the final plan, Ewing said.
"It needs to support ways in which they want to connect with the water and learn about Lake Erie and the Great Lakes overall," she said.
Officials will be there to answer questions about the project that has gotten criticism from some.
Both meetings are Wednesday in the H.O. Hirt Auditorium in the library. The first one is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The second one is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The plans will also be published on this website.
